Fresco

Fresco is an intricate process combining multiple techniques, hand painted in homage to the ancient art of the fresco and to the elegant style of Old World naturalists.

The process used for Pauline Savage Art Studio frescoes is unique and proprietary. Each original is created on a wood frame wrapped in canvas, and layered with a special plaster base. Completed paintings are coated, aged, and given a deep protective over-coating, then polished and coated again. All processes are performed by hand.
